Yesterday at Marimba practice, our conductor shared a thought that resonated deeply within us:

“Have the courage to feel the music… and then to play it.”

In that moment, we realised that wisdom transcends doing.

It is the same with motherhood.

It is to have the courage to become someone new.

It reflects the quiet inner work we engage in long before the world sees our outer expressions.

Embracing New Challenges

Lately, we have stepped into realms that once felt impossible.

Learning an instrument for the first time.

Joining a choir.

Holding a steady bass line for our Christmas performance.

Trusting ourselves to take steps into the unknown.

All of this is uncomfortable.

All of this stretches us.

All of this is part of a deeper preparation we didn’t initially recognise.

The Essence of Motherhood

Because motherhood embodies this journey:

Listening deeply—to our children, to our intuition, to the life that flows through us.

And then playing our part—with courage, with steadiness, with rhythm.

Mother and son in nature

In Steiner education, we often speak of the “moral atmosphere”—the invisible field within which a child grows.

What we are learning is profound: we create that atmosphere not through perfection but through our willingness to keep expanding.

The Power of Courage

Every time we act bravely, every time we meet discomfort with curiosity, every time we choose rhythm over chaos, our children feel it.

They do not merely copy our actions; they grow within who we are becoming.

And somewhere between the Marimba’s heartbeat and the courage it takes to find our place within a group, we can feel our next steps emerging.

A steadier rhythm.

A braver voice.

A mother becoming more herself.

The Journey of Transformation

This is the essence of the work behind Tejas.

The quiet preparation.

The inner shifts that shape our outer journeys.

Every journey begins long before we pack a suitcase.

It starts the moment we find the courage to listen…and then to play.

The Rhythm of Growth

As we navigate this path, we discover that growth is not a straight line.

It is a dance, a melody that ebbs and flows.

We learn to embrace the pauses, the rests between notes.

These moments of stillness allow us to reflect and gather strength.

Listening to Our Inner Voices

Listening is an art.

It requires us to be present, to quiet the noise around us.

In those moments of silence, we can hear our inner voice guiding us.

This voice speaks of dreams, aspirations, and the love we hold for our children.

The Courage to Play

Playing our part takes courage.

It means stepping into the spotlight, even when we feel unprepared.

It means sharing our unique gifts with the world.

When we play, we inspire our children to do the same.

Building a Supportive Community

In this journey, we are not alone.

We are surrounded by a community of like-minded souls.

Together, we create a tapestry of support, encouragement, and love.

This community nurtures our growth and celebrates our victories, big and small.

Reflecting on Our Experiences

As we reflect on our experiences, we find meaning in every challenge faced.

Each step taken is a testament to our resilience.

We learn to appreciate the beauty in the struggle, for it shapes us into who we are meant to be.

The Ongoing Journey

The journey of motherhood and personal growth is ongoing.

It is a beautiful, messy, and transformative process.

We embrace the uncertainty, knowing it leads us to deeper connections with ourselves and our children.

In the end, we find that the music of life is a symphony of experiences.

We are both the listeners and the players, weaving our stories together.

Let us continue to listen deeply, to play boldly, and to embrace the journey of becoming.

For every note we play resonates with the hearts of those we love.

This is the work behind Tejas.

The quiet preparation.

The inner shifts that shape the outer journeys.

Because every journey begins long before we pack a suitcase.

It begins the moment we find the courage to listen…and then to play.
